Aretha on Super Nintendo is a role game taking place in a world marked by a war won by a evil king. You're incarnating little Ariel, who just was 10 years old. Her grandmother sent her to look for someone she had to talk to in a nearby town, but what seemed to be an easy task would turn into a true epic quest where Ariel would have to look for the powers of Aretha in order to find his identity and put an end to the king's reign.
